Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach
Hotel Information: A marble-floored lobby with dark-wood beamed ceilings, antiques, and chandeliers of wrought-iron and glass, in addition to a veranda with leather rocking chairs exemplify the ambience. Flowering gardens, flamingos, aviaries, swans, and stone-lined arroyos to carry off rare rainwater grace the hillside. Couples and families come for secluded holidays and panoramic ocean/beach views.
Insider tip: Although beach swimming at the resort is not allowed, the resort provides all-day, complimentary shuttle service to partner resorts Pueblo Bonito Rosé and Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos Blanco on safe-swimming, water-sports-friendly Médano Beach 6 blocks from downtown on the Sea of Cortez. Guests enjoy full access to these resorts' facilities.
The 50-acre Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach consists of 324 guest suites in 28 tile-roof buildings terraced into a hillside sloping to the beach. Most buildings contain timeshare suites. Suites at this Baja resort are located in 2-3-story buildings with outside staircases (no elevators). Elevators are in the main building, which contains public areas, a health spa, restaurants, and a bar. Complimentary shuttles take guests up and down the slope to swimming pools, restaurants, and the main building 24 hours daily.
The Cabo San Lucas suites feature furnished balconies or ground-floor terraces with Pacific Ocean views. Featherbeds cushion extra-thick pillowtop mattresses. Ceiling fans provide a cooling alternative to air conditioning. Televisions offer pay movies. Contemporary decor includes pale marble floors, pale-pastel walls with white ceilings and crown molding, live plants, and dark-wood furniture, headboards, and trim.
